Color Coding
Why is it that I can usually look at the computer all day with no problem, but the second I decide to start coding, all of a sudden my eyes are bothered? HM!?
Maybe because I spent the first hour picking out colors? When I said I made a mockup for my website all I actually did was draw my idea on the back of an old flyer I found at work lol. So, I know the layout I want and what to put in each box then I needed to decide on a color scheme. I wrote an idea in my notebook "gray, orange, plum, black, white". Sounds good. I have a vision in my mind of how I want it to look, just need the hex codes. So I go to color.adobe.com and mess around and put my choices into Aseprite.
I end up with this palette that I named "Maquillage" because it reminded me of an eyeshadow palette I had a long time ago.
*Checks notes* Okay... close enough.
Don't ask where the greens, blues, and pinks came from lol. But check it out, this is pretty nice on it's own!
Even better is that those greens, blues, and pinks? They almost exactly match the colors I'm already using on my favorite page on my website.
I don't plan on changing that collections page beyond taking a stab at making the timeline look a little different. Definitely not changing the colors. So it's quite fortuitous that the palette I made matches so well! I wonder if it was a unconscious thing lmao.
Now I gotta start actually coding the page(s)! I'm excited about my website again!

I really need to get back to working on mine.

Thank you! I'm still working on revamping it. I'm fighting for my life with the CSS right now lmao. But I like how it's looking so far.
Your website inspired me! I hate trying to decide whether something is rated T or M or E. So I took a cue from you and just didn't include that anymore! There's just the characters/pairings and content notes. I've mentioned before, I really like your symbol method and it got me thinking about presentation so I started working on my site again.
Looking forward to seeing more updates on your site as well! I know you have tons of fics to upload, but it will be nice to see it fill up 💪

Yay! I feel like there's more value in content notes than an arbitrary rating (especially anything that requires a US movie rating, like, why?) and wish that would be more the standard but I also kinda feel it's a lost cause in broader transformative fandom?
It's finally cooled off so my brain will hopefully solidify and I'll be able to do things again. I am just not built for hot weather at all. ^^;;
