Granblue - The Maydays Event

It legitimately took me about three hours to read through this event and there was only one minigame and like two fights. That's what I'm talking about with Granblue, the stories have way too much to read. I guess it's the content they need since it's basically a grinding game, but I really don't have time for the game to spend two scenes setting the location. There's backgrounds for a reason sheesh.
On the other hand, the story was really funny. I laughed at so much, like when dumbass bimbofied Lucio got eaten by the shark, when Martin freakin' "DIED" in that explosion, and when that one shark burst up from underground in the bar. The fact that the event was parodies of Jaws and Sharknado added to the hilarity.
As for the length... maaaaybeee they don't expect you to go through the whole event in one sitting, but let's be real. That's what most people do. Also my light grid SUX, but I'm just a casual player and I don't log in everyday to grind for weapons.

In other aspects... Lucio is in love with Sandalphon or what? WOW! He's got it real bad and Sandy hates him. Made me want to go peruse AO3, but I didn't (yet...). I'd love to write some GBF fanfiction, but I just feel too lost whenever I try. I don't want hardcore people to come yelling at me if I get something wrong, which I feel like I will do since I haven't even finished the main story and only play events.

Another thing that gets me about Granblue is that so much of the story barely includes Gran/Djeeta. They'll be mentioned only fleetingly and I don't enjoy that because if I have a Player Character I want to be included. I love Lyria, but it's so much about what she's doing and Gran was only a convenient plot device, I don't know it's weird. I wish Gran was more of a real character and his reactions and stuff were mentioned more. He's just barely included in the narrative a lot of the time, you can really forget the PC is there. It will go something like "'Oh, Gran nice to see you and the crew!' Now here's what Lyria and Vryn are doing for 99.99% of the story." I didn't even realize Gran was helping out at the fruit juice/coffee stall in the event for the longest time. Another point about writing fanfiction of GBF is that since Gran is so abysmally minimal I'd like to write a more original Singularity character, older with different looks perhaps and a slightly different life history, but I'm sure that will absolutely not fly online. ....I guess what I really want to write is OCxBelial 😂 but my brain didn't want to admit it until right now. They'd still have to be the Singularity though so as I was saying earlier, an entirely different Singularity from Gran that essentially takes his place in the story. Is that weird? Augh!
