Absolutely LOVING the trend in videogames not asking specifically for a gender at character creation.
Fire Emblem Three Houses really made me happy when the character selection screen said "Select a form."

Even tho it seems like all they did was change wording since Byleth's design is so rigid, but it still meant so much to me that they didn't specifically make me pick Male or Female.

And right now I just started up Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town and it's just like BAM - make your character, there is no gender, only appearance options.

Unfortunately, it made me choose later between "His grandson/granddaughter, yeah" cuz no gay marriage apparently 😔, only "best friend ceremonies" 🙄 but I am still pleased with the character creator 😊

That's cool! When I was a kid (and I'm about to make myself sound extremely old here) it was actually considered progressive when a game allowed you to choose male or female for the player character, because for so many games male was the only option. It's nice to see game companies are continuing to adjust with the times.

I remember when Pokemon Crystal came out, all the talk was about the series finally letting players play as a girl. Girl gamers everywhere rejoiced!
It was a big deal! And I'm glad it's more widespread if not the expectation these days.

And some games are now no longer gender-locking their wardrobes either which I also love.

I'm glad there are more options for everyone and it's definitely a trend I want to see continue in big titles.

OMG. You're playing Three Houses. What route are your going to play first?

I beat Three Houses in August last year :^)c
The first route I did was Blue Lions bc Dimitri was hot 😍 Funnily enough tho I couldn't S-Support him bc I chose M!Byleth for that run lol.
Then I did Black Eagles, no recruit run. Which was a pain! I honestly feel like everytime I go BE I get bad rng lvl ups (this includes the Church route!)! Then I did Golden Deer and finished with the Church Route :^)
I'm replaying it rn tho, Blue Lions NG++++ ;^P
