Day 5: Compare and/or contrast your very first fandom obsession and your very latest fandom obsession.
I guess I'd consider Dragon Ball Z to be my first fandom obsession 🤔 and my latest Dragon Age. HMMM. COINCIDENCE? Yes. I'm not even a fan of dragons themselves, lol.
What do they even have in common? At least one dragon, heroes saving the world, magic(?), and non-human characters. Various videogames, comics, movies And of course I had to have them all 😊

Day 6: What's a fandom that you wish had a bigger following?
Pillars of Eternity! I think it's such a good game. I'm actually surprised there isn't much fanwork for it, at least that I could find. I satiated myself by reading all the posts on the Obsidian forum, lmao. It was quite popular when it came out, especially judging by how much it made during its Kickstarter. Where are all the fans!? I've only met a few, did I really miss the whole thing? 😂

Hmm, I know my partner played Pillars of Eternity and liked it, but I don't know if she's fannish about it. I'll ask!

I'm in the very early stages of Pillars for Eternity (I probably need to restart because I am failing in the combat department XD) but it seems like the kind of series that should have lots of content. :0 I am already in favor of more content; the story is great!

Oh yes, I certainly remember the combat being tough to get a handle on at the beginning. Especially if one starts as a wizard (quite a difficult class to start out with). I was about 10 hours in when I really got my footing on the combat and other mechanics; and restarted because I could do so much better. One thing I didn't discover until much later though, was that you can redo your base stats at the Inns for a fee. I probably didn't have to restart all the way from the beginning lol.
Found Pillars much less confusing than Baldur's Gate though xD
I really like the story. There's at least three different, but interconnected moral dilemmas to deal with that I found fascinating.

Oddly I'm finding the first Baldur's Gate a lot more intuitive than Pillars of Eternity, which makes me think somewhere along the way I went really wrong with Pillars. XD I really like the worldbuilding and characters though, so I'm absolutely going to continue!

For me, I continued with Pillars until I understood it, but with Baldur's Gate I went "Huh??? Okay?" Went to some random town, recruited a (evil?) wizard(?) and then didn't really touch it again xD I really need to try that game again.
It doesn't help that I bought Baldur's Gate on the Switch though (_ _;) and I didn't end up liking the Switch much as a console.

Semi-related, Pillars of Eternity has one of the most difficult (optional) boss fights I've come across yet, even putting the difficulty all the way down it was a struggle! Really had to utilize all my resources and knowledge of the mechanics, it was fun.

Ahh, Baldur's Gate is such a definitely PC game that I have a hard time imagining it on a console. ^^" I can see how that would be troublesome!

I'll have to keep an eye out for this optional boss in Pillars of Eternity!
