Does anyone have any Spanish language media they'd recommend?
It doesn't have to be beginner friendly. I think it's time I finally start studying Spanish as seriously as French and Japanese (maybe even more seriously considering where I live). I can't keep blaming my Spanish speaking parents for not teaching me
anything when I'm over here watching movies in French. I got to thinking about this because I shared that French song that I've been listening to for years and I never listen to Spanish music even though I've been dabbling in learning it :^\ So please share if you have any recs!

Date: 2022-10-20 02:00 pm (UTC)Desenfrenadas ("Unstoppable" is its name in English) is definitely the objectively better of the two lol. It's a one season series about 4 women on a road trip that goes, uh... not to plan. There are quite a few CW-worthy things in it; I'm happy to elaborate if need be.
If you like that one, Bárbara López and Coty Camacho starred in another show this year called Señorita 89. That one is not on a major streaming platform, so a little harder to find, but well worth it if you can stomach the misery of Mexican beauty pageants in the 80s.
The less critically acclaimed but way lighter and more fun option is the teen drama Rebelde, but only the first season because the second season was hot garbage. But I genuinely enjoyed the first season for its ridiculous (yet strangely self-aware?) shenanigans.
Note that all 3 of these have canon f/f relationships (which is a big reason why my wife and I picked them to watch), if that's something you're into.
