Waking Up at 5am: A Challenge

After getting a surge of productivity energy I decided I want to try the whole "wake up at 5am" thing. At least if I'm up early my internet procrastination won't take up the entire day... but I do need to cut back on that too. Since it's a challenge of sorts here's the rules and outcomes I came up with for myself:
Rules
- Wake up at 5am (obviously) for one week
- Do at least one personally productive thing per day (e.g. write, read)
- Do at least one thing for my family per day (e.g. cook, clean, walk the dog)
- Go outside for at least 20 minutes per day
- Exercise for at least 30 minutes per day
What I hope to get out of trying this:
- Improve my sleep schedule.
All last quarter I slept to around 1pm or even 3pm on days I didn't have class, and days that I did I woke up with no time to spare before I had to leave for class. Now that I've graduated and am looking for employment I don't want to waste my days snoozing. - Serotonin
I think waking up early will help me feel like I'm productive even if I don't do much. I'll at least have more hours to do things. Going outside and exercising will probably help too. - Progress on personal projects
Work on my writing in general, finish my novel, complete the 52 book challenge, and learn a language.
Of course all these things will not get done in one week just because I wake up at the crack of dawn, but it's a start and I'm excited to challenge myself to take advantage of a full day.
Today is the first day, but does it count that I didn't even go to sleep yet 🤔 yeah. The challenge for today is to not fall asleep too early....
