New Living
Jun. 18th, 2019 12:48 amEntering a new phase in my life currently. What better way to start it off than to clean and re-arrange my room?
I decided to try the Konmari method again. Even though I don't follow everything she says it's a great methodology for getting rid of stuff. Last time I kept some clothes I knew I wasn't going to wear, but this time they were the first things in the bag. She's really right about only keeping things that make you happy. Especially when it comes to clothes (for me). I filled a whole trashbag nearly to bursting with clothes again this time. Some of it was pieces I only recently became unhappy with, but most of it was shirts I should have gotten rid of last time I cleaned. I love having a minimalistic closet filled only with clothes that make me feel like I look good. I hate feeling like I look frumpy even though I'm quite lazy 😣 . I purged nearly all of the junk from the closet too so I think I'll put all my clothes in there to finally have it all in one place. I also moved all my makeup, jewelry, and nail polish onto the shelf in the closet so maybe I'll remember to wear some of it next time I'm picking out clothes.... Anyway, since I moved all that stuff I was able to put the hamster's cage on the drawer instead of my desk. It's better because you can hardly hear him running on his wheel now.
Tomorrow I just have to sort through my books, notebooks and stationery. Then decide where they should go. Sorting the books shouldn't take too long since last time I did the Konmari method I got rid of a bunch. Deciding where they should go will be the hard part. As for the notebooks, definitely going to donate all the $.25 ones which will then FORCE me to actually use the cute ones. My stationery on the other hand... I already know I'm not going to get rid of any of it, but I will probably try to put it all back on my desk since I relocated the hamster. After that it's time to move the furniture! The rabbit's house, my bed, and my desk will be the only things I'm moving, but I'm excited to have a little change of perspective in here.
I want to start making vlog videos so I'll have to find a good angle to film them from after I'm done cleaning.
